A County Fair Update: New Music, New Plans & Life on the Road
Hi friends!
It feels like about time for a proper County Fair update because, somehow, there are approximately 900 things happening at once over here.
We’ve been releasing music, traveling around playing shows, renovating a motorhome, finishing our first County Fair record, releasing our own music outside of County Fair, and slowly figuring out what it actually looks like to build a life around making songs together.
And despite the occasional chaos of it all, we are very, very happy to be here.
First things first: there is SO much new music.
If you haven’t heard it yet, our newest County Fair single “Buffalo” is officially out in the world.
This song started in our house almost by accident. Max was working on a track he was close to abandoning, Savs came home from the studio and started writing over it while Max was making dinner, and somewhere along the way it turned into Buffalo.
We brought it to Josh Frigo, finished building out the world around it, and now it belongs to all of you.
Our next County Fair release, “First Quarter Moon,” is also officially on the way, out September 17th, and we cannot WAIT for you to hear this side of the record.
But County Fair isn't the only place we've been releasing music.
Savs' album albatross has officially been out for a little over a month (!!), and Max just released another new single, Accidental. (which was written with me, Savs)
Basically, if you like the music either of us makes, there is a lot to dig into right now.
We’ve been keeping everything together in The County Fair Playlist on Spotify, where you can find County Fair releases alongside new music from both Savs and Max Gall.
We have some exciting behind-the-scenes news.
We are SO happy to finally share that County Fair has officially been onboarded with Tone Tree for distribution!
This has caused us to rethink our original release timeline a little bit, but in a way that we think is going to be really good for this record.
Originally, we were planning to release the entire County Fair album much sooner. Now, we're working on giving each single more room to breathe, giving ourselves more time to properly market the songs, and allowing each little piece of this record to have its own moment before we hand you the whole thing.
Which means...
Our debut County Fair album will most likely be arriving digitally in spring 2027.
BUT there is a little loophole for those of you who have been here from the beginning. :)

The actual album is still on track to be finished this fall, and we've officially begun presales for vinyl and CDs.
That means our physical full length record you get to hear long before it finishes rolling out digitally.
We kind of love that.

There's something very County Fair about the people who have been supporting this project from the beginning getting to put a record on at home and hear what's coming before the rest of the internet does.
The music will continue rolling out digitally one song at a time into 2027, while the physical album gets to exist as its own little world.
The Sunny Report 🚐
And then there is our third band member:
Sunny. (actually 4th our dog lottie is the 3rd)
Our big ol' motorhome is, unfortunately, still not finished.
But we're starting to think the delay might actually be working in our favor.
Our first stretches of touring have involved some pretty enormous jumps between shows. For example, we just finished a run all the way to Wisconsin and then BACK to Nashville, then to Pittsburgh and back again to Nashville.
Sunny is many things. Fuel efficient is not one of them. 😂
So lately, we've been touring in our trusty Honda Civic instead. It gets amazing gas mileage and has taught us that you can fit a genuinely disturbing amount of musical equipment, merchandise, luggage, your 55lb dog and assorted nonsense into a compact sedan if you believe in yourself.
The dream for Sunny was never really to drive 11 hours somewhere, play a show and drive 11 hours back anyway.
The dream is to live on the road.
To spend a few days somewhere. Play a show. Drive a couple hours to the next town. Meet people. Play breweries and listening rooms and house shows. Wake up somewhere new. Make coffee. Write songs. Keep going.
So we're letting Sunny take a little longer while we build toward the kind of touring schedule where she actually makes sense.
We're learning very quickly that building this life requires a lot of flexibility.
Sometimes the dream doesn't change.
The route to it does.
Speaking of the road...
We have a couple shows coming up that we're particularly excited about.
On September 18, we'll be back in Pennsylvania for Deer Valley Folk Festival outside Pittsburgh. And possibly posting up in/ around Indiana, PA for a few days to play some last minute shows.
Getting to travel around and watch these songs slowly find people in different corners of the country has been one of our favorite parts of starting County Fair.
Every person who comes to a show, buys a record, saves a song, sends it to a friend, follows us online, or tells us they found something of themselves in the music is helping us build this thing. And we don't take that lightly.
We're still very much at the beginning.
The album isn't even out yet.
The motorhome isn't finished.
We're still figuring out where we're going next half the time.
But Take My Gold is out
Buffalo is out.
First Quarter Moon is coming.
The record is almost finished.
Physical copies are becoming real.
We're working with a distribution team we’re excited about.
We're playing shows in places we've never played before.
And somehow this little idea called County Fair keeps becoming more real.
Thanks for being here early.
We have a feeling there's a whole lot more road ahead.
Love,
Savs + Max + Lottie + Sunny
